Notes:
One of my favourite collections of all time, and I really love the whole collection and majority of the looks.
Different to his usual collections where they have the dark, sci-fi and spooky vibe to them. The collection here is not like that, it is more classic and feminine but with the Mugler twist with looks still being daring. But, there is still some references to his usual style with look 6 for instance.
Different use of materials and styles, including denim, sheer, feathers, and metal.
Looks 2 & 23 - obsessed how the suit is almost backwards with the front appearing on the back with the buttons (which you can see in the details section).
The collection has a mix of ready to wear mixed with couture looks.
Love the use sheer and sparkly material that was used on multiple looks but they are all very different - can’t explain how much I love looks 43, 45 & 54 - they are my personal dream looks. Particularly look 45 with the plastic detail which holds the dress up and then wraps around the neck.
Also love all the long black dresses.
Kim K’s met gala wet look in 2019 was inspired by this collection, and Manfred Thierry Mugler came out of retirement to design the dress!
The finale look was covered entirely in crystals, in an apparent reference to Mugler’s best-selling fragrance, Angel, a scent that still has wings decades later as stated on Vogue Runway.
